THROUGH THE RIVER KWAI ADVENTURE TOUR, YOU WILL DISCOVER

 

Day 1: Bangkok – Samut Songkhram – River Kwai (L, D)

Depart from Bangkok in early morning. Arrive the Delta area of Mae Klong to see rural market on the railway which is utilized to display goods on sale. After seeing the rail road market, continue to visit another market, this time not on the railroad but on water: Damnoen Saduak floating market, though touristy today, remains the most typical destination for a traditional river market was like originally.

(On Saturday or Sunday, the tour offers two market visiting options to choose between Damnoen Saduak or the less touristy and smaller Tha Kha).

Enjoy a fascinating journey on rowing boat through the waterways. Stop to visit a local family workshop producing palm sugar syrup. Guest will be offered to have a taste of the sweet juice. Next, visit an ancient temple of 400 years old and the nearby mysterious banyan tree. The following visit is Rama II Park with a local museum displaying the traditional artifacts.

Drive to Kanchanaburi for lunch by the infamous “Bridge on the River Kwai”. The Bridge was built during the World War II by the Allied prisoners. Walk along the historical rail track to visit Thailand-Burma Railway Center Museum before returning to the hotel in Kanchanaburi.

Overnight in Kanchanaburi.

Day 2: River Kwai – Kanchanaburi (B, L)

Two option to choose for this day:

Option A

Enjoy the breakfast and drive 80km to the Hellfire Pass Museum to embark on a trek through the valley for the Memorial Trail near the border of Myanmar. Be equipped with an audio guide for the story and understanding of the World War II POW’s harsh working condition.

Lunch at a local restaurant.

Option B

Explore the Erawan Waterfall – a beautiful pristine waterfall in the Erawan National Park. This is a seven – tiered waterfall so guests will have chance walk up and enjoy landscape in each of the tier. In the hot day, visitor can have a dip in the cool water.

Note: For safety reason, in some circumstances, the guide holds the right to skip this swimming option and guests should kindly always respect his decision.

Enjoy lunch before taking a short train ride on the infamous ‘death railway’ through the gorge of the River Kwai.

Return to your resort for dinner and overnight in Kanchanaburi.

Day 3: Kanchanaburi – Bangkok (B, L)

After a good night sleep and tasty breakfast, visit Prasat Muang temple complex, a Khmer temple built from the Angkorian period. This is a peaceful historical ruin and featuring the history & the culture of the area.

On the way to Bangkok via Nakhon Pathom, pay a visit to the world tallest Buddhist tower of Phra Pathom.
