THROUGH THE CU CHI TUNNELS BY SPEEDBOAT TOUR, YOU WILL DISCOVER
Depart from Ho Chi Minh City pier, relax on speedboat journey upstream on the Saigon River. As the city merges into the skyline, observe rural life scenes along the river of Saigon.
Walking through the lush green cashew garden, you would never believe that you are walking on the tunnels system, which are just a few meters underneath you, were headquarter to the war’s strategic operations, including the famous Tet Offensive in the Eve of 1968. American B52 air fortress had dropped tons of bombs and missiles digging huge craters all around the destination. The tunnels were also reinforced with arrays of “bamboo traps” on the ground using bamboo spikes that entrapped enemy soldiers. But don’t worry; they aren’t hidden anymore so you won’t step in one! You’ll also have chance to climb on the remains of an American tank, destroyed by Viet Cong landmine, for great photos. Visiting Cu Chi would be emotionally draining experience for some, but it uncovers for deep understanding about the suffering and hardship of the people over ten thousand day tragic war.
Next, visit a cricket farm in the nearby countryside. Some Vietnamese have crickets for delicacy, and war veterans say that they once had to eat those for a little more protein. In the farm you’ll also have a chance to savour cricket spring rolls. Don’t forget to take some photos you eating those crickets so show your friend and put on your Instagram so that your friends will believe your fiction fable! Enjoy a traditional Vietnamese lunch before arriving back Ho Chi Minh City in the afternoon.
