THROUGH THE VANG VIENG EXCURSION, YOU WILL DISCOVER

Day 1: Arrive Vang Vieng

Start the tour with an arrival in Vang Vieng, a small town located along the banks of the Nam Song River. Surrounded by limestone karst landscapes, this city is one of the most beautiful in Laos. Enjoy the rest of the day free at leisure with the guide and driver available.

Relax, enjoy the beautiful view and do not forget to enjoy the sunset on the Nam Song River!

Overnight in Vang Vieng.

Day 2: Visit Vang Vieng (B, L)

After breakfast, enjoy a full day guided tour to discover the beautiful surroundings of Vang Vieng.

The tour begins with a crossing of the Nam Song River for the short drive to Tham Pou Kham (Golden Crab Cave). After crossing a small entrance, go down 100 meters into the ground. As the cave widens inside, take note of the reclining Buddha statue.

Tham Pou Kham has several wet rock formations, including a pair of “golden crabs”. After exploring the cave, go for a cold swim in the waterhole of the river, locally called the “Blue Lagoon”. The water is clean, deep, and safe for the jump (for the brave). Continue with a transfer to the south.

Enjoy a picnic lunch, brought along the guide.

Continue next to what is considered the most important cave of Vang Vieng, Tham Chang (or Jang). The cave was once home to migrant people in the area, who settled near the village of Meuang Song to raise vegetables. Inside the cave are spectacular stalactites and stalagmites, plus a vantage point offering an impressive panorama.

After visiting the cave, take a local long-tail boat (2 people per boat) for a cruise for about 1 hour upstream on the Nam Song River, enjoying the beautiful passing scenery.

Continue with a drive back to the hotel, with the option of stopping at local villages and a market along the way.

Relax for the rest of the day and enjoy a beautiful sunset on the Nam Song River from the hotel.

Note: other activities are available such as cycling, kayaking, climbing and trekking. These activities are not included in the price.

Overnight in Vang Vieng.

Day 3: Vang Vieng – Cooking class Departure (B, L)

After breakfast, transfer to the organic farm nearby, enjoy a rewarding organic farm experience that promotes the preservation of ecological diversity and provides people with affordable and sustainable ways to earn a living. Farm profits are used to provide training and employment, support and education to local villagers through various projects.

After an educational visit to the farm, start the cooking class. The chef will guide the experience by mastering three famous Laotian dishes and a dessert, using fresh ingredients from the farm. After the lesson, relax and enjoy the party just created.

After a leisurely morning, leave Vang Vieng and transfer to Vientiane or Luang Prabang for your next destination.
