Through this Plain of Jars adventure with Orient Skyline Travel, you will discover a vast archaeological site in Laos where hundreds of stone jars of all sizes are scattered on the plain grounds and the historical origin of these are still unknown. THROUGH THE PLAIN OF JARS ADVENTURE, YOU WILL DISCOVER

 

Day 1: Arrive Xieng Khuang (L)

Arrive at Xieng Khuang known as Phonsavan. By locals, Xieng Khuang is the gateway to the Plain of Jars. Be welcome by your guide and driver and then transfer to the hotel.

After check in, start a brief tour to visit MAG Center as a worldwide humanity organization dedicated to the mission clearing the remnants from the wars for the benefit of local communities.

Spend the night in hotel in Xieng Khuang.

Day 2: Xieng Khuang – Plain of Jars (B, L)

The Plain of Jars comprise of the three major sites. Start at Site 1 which is nearby the town and is the largest, then Site 2 at Hai Hin. Finally come to Site 3 in Hai Hin Lat Khai, with over 150 jars, this is the most beautiful one. After the Plain of Jars, visit the nearby Ban Xiengdi, a small monastery of impressive Buddha images.

Important notes: The Plain of Jars was targeted and heavily bombed during the America-Vietnam War; for your safety, please note to follow the guidelines and stay on the designated trails due to bombs and landmines.

After lunch at a local restaurant, take part in a half day excursion to Muang Khoun, home to some of the ancient pagodas and a giant Buddha sculpture. Witness the remains of the ancient structure and columns of Wat Phia Wat with a 30-meter stupa as a survivor from the Lan Xang/Lanna period.

Day 3: Xieng Khuang – Departure (B)

Enjoy breakfast then have some free time for leisure before taking the transfer to the airport for the flight to your next destination.
