THROUGH NINH BINH’S RUSTIC COUNTRYSIDE TOUR, YOU WILL DISCOVER

 

Day 1: Hanoi – Ninh Binh – Galaxy cave (L)

Depart early in the morning with Orient Skyline Travel for the scenic 2-hour car transfer to the rural countryside of Ninh Binh. The journey passes through the most picturesque province of Vietnam. With spectacular limestone mountains amidst the verdant rice fields and local villages, Ninh Binh has earned the nick name ‘Halong Bay on land’.

Arrive deep in the center of the province, at Tho Ha village, swap to the bike and start leisure bike ride of 7 for short riding opt to 15 km for long one (according to preference). The trip starts at Tho Ha village, ride through the nearby peaceful villages passing rustic countryside landscapes of rice fields. Stop the bike ride at Dong Tam hamlet to participate in some of the most typical agricultural activities with the farmers such as trapping crabs, catching fish and planting vegetable or tending water buffaloes.

After a tasty home cooked lunch, enjoy a boat trip through the paddy fields, arrive at a limestone mountain side, leave the sampan and start the exploration of the destination through the mythical Galaxy Cave. Inside the cave, the first chamber, visit some of the archeological excavations finding evidences of the ancient time. Walk further to admire the beauty of the cave with thousand of glittering stalactites hanging from the ceiling. Following, the next chamber of the cave called But Hien cave, means the Buddha statue as there is a stalagmite looks like a statue. Be amazed by many stalactites with strange shapes before taking the sampan cruise returning to the pier and transfer to the hotel.

Overnight in Ninh Binh.

Day 2: Ninh Binh – Hanoi (B, L)

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel and have leisure morning to soak the fresh opened air before an hour transfer to Phat Diem church. Designed and built in 1892 by a Vietnamese catholic priest, with Vietnamese and European styles and green stone for main material, the grand church is an architectural blend between traditional elements and western touches representing for “eclectic architectural style”. Stroll around the church to admire the great effort of putting all the massive heavy stones into the grand structures.

Following, visit a local family who weave bed mats from sea grass before transferring to Tam Coc for lunch.

After short relaxation, drive between the limestone ridges along the rice fields to Bich Dong, an ancient three layered pagodas hidden inside a mythical cave, embrace the tranquil charming beauty of the cave pagoda with a panoramic view from the top of the mountain behind the pagodas.

Transfer back to Hanoi in late afternoon.
