THROUGH THE LUANG SAY CRUISE TO LUANG PRABANG, YOU WILL DISCOVER
Day 1: Houay Xay – Pakbeng (L, D)
Begin from Thailand side and enter Laos via border gate of Houay Xay, meet our representatives and transport to the pier. Board your Luang Say Cruise vessel which you will cruise on to Luang Prabang.
In the morning, stop to visit local villages of ethnic minorities, after that enjoy a buffet lunch while the boat continue its way on scenic Mekong.
In late afternoon, enjoy the view of Mekong sunset before reaching a small and bustling town of Pakbeng which is between Houay Xay and Luang Prabang.
Sleep overnight in Pakbeng.
Day 2: Pakbeng – Kamu lodge (B, L, D)
Take a hearty breakfast then the cruise will continue towards Kamu Lodge. On the way, stop and visit Ban Baw where local villagers are well known for their rice wine distillation.
Enjoy lunch onboard and arrive at Kamu Lodge after lunch at 14:00. Built with local material of bamboo and timber and accordingly with local style and in harmony with the surrounding environment, Kamu Lodge consists of 20 canvas tents.
In the afternoon, join in for some first-hand experience:
- Rice planting or harvesting in the fields
- Gold panning in the Mekong
- Fishing with locals in the Mekong
- Visiting local home and villagers
Enjoy dinner and spend the night at Kamu Lodge.
Day 3: Kamu lodge – Pak Ou cave – Luang Prabang (B, L)
Enjoy tasty breakfast in the lodge and have few hours for leisure. After lunch, check out the Lodge and depart for the rest of the cruise to Luang Prabang.
On half way to Luang Prabang, visit the Pak Ou Caves. These caves made famous containing thousands of gold gilded Buddhist statues jammed inside.
Reach Luang Prabang after 2 hours from the caves.
