THROUGH KY SON COUNTRYSIDE EXPERIENCE TOUR, YOU WILL DISCOVER
Day 1: Hanoi – Ky Son village (L, D)
From Hanoi, your tour journeys to Ky Son for a unique three day experience. Sleep in a traditional homestay, restored from an ancient house set in the fertile valley of the former Tonkinese countryside. After an hour drive away from Hanoi, turn into a countryside back road to visit one of Vietnam’s most iconic Thay pagoda, and the nearby interesting wood carving village.
Arrive at Ky Son village, settle in the lodge and after a warm greeting with welcome drink, be introduced to the local chef for a cooking class. Observe and learn from the chef then put your hand in making Vietnamese dishes which are typical for this region. After all the hard work, sit down and savor your creations for lunch!
In the afternoon, spend time to relax at the lodge. Alternatively, leisurely cycle or stroll around village to discover the local communities. Along the cycling, stop to interact with local people and enjoy a cup of fresh green tea while observe the farmers tending their farm harvesting crops of corn, sweet potatoes or peanuts dependently on the season.
Return for “happy hour” at the lodge and try traditional tisane steam bath with the fragrant herbs from the garden around the lodge.
Overnight in Ky Son.
Day 2: Ky Son – Duong Lam village – Ky Son (B, L, D)
For early risers, join in morning exercises in traditional slow pace motions and observe the owner’s traditional rite honoring their ancestors.
Enjoy tasty breakfast and choose to drive or cycle to Duong Lam, an ancient village and home to two national heroes, here walk leisurely on the brick paved paths winding around the village to the ancient pagoda, home to a great collection of 287 Buddha statues. After a home cooked lunch in a local family, visit the village communal hall to discover about how ritual and interesting traditional festivals are held in the village. Transfer or cycle back to Ky Son for a leisure afternoon.
Spend the night in Ky Son.
Day 3: Ky Son – Hanoi (B)
Enjoy breakfast and bid farewell to the hospitable hostess and return to Hanoi or continue onward to the next destination.
