THROUGH HIGHLAND OF THE NORTH VIETNAM, YOU WILL DISCOVER

Day 1: Hanoi – Overnight train to Lao Cai

Tonight, take the transfer to Hanoi train station, board the train for the overnight journey to Lao Cai, the border town and gateway to Sapa.

Day 2: Lao Cai – Sapa (B, L)

Early in the morning, arrive at the border station of Lao Cai, meet your driver for the transfer to Sapa. After breakfast, get back on the car and drive further north of the destination where you can enjoy the most spectacular Silver Waterfall (water level depends on season), you will be driven to the mountain resort of Sapa. Spend time to enjoy the natural beauty of this wonder, for a better view, hike up toward the top of the fall to take some postcard photos.

Drive to Tram Ton pass or by nick name the Gateway to Heaven at 1900 meters altitude, Tram Ton Pass is the highest pass in Vietnam. Further to the western side of the Hoang Lien Mountain, enjoy the spectacular view of the verdant valley and river gorge.

Take the freshest air on the pass and return to hotel in Sapa. The rest of the afternoon is free at leisure or take time to explore Sapa.

Day 3: Sapa – Bac Ha (B, L)

Early this morning, depart the hotel and drive through Lao Cai border town to visit colorful markets. (Note: the market visit can be organized on the day of arrival, depending on the day of the week). These markets are the gathering places for some of the most colorful ethnic minorities in the region such as H’mongs, Phu La, Red Dzao, Tay, Nung. Stroll through the market to see ranges of local products, which are rarely seen in other places, such as spotted bellied pigs, puppets even buffaloes and horses can be seen.

Arrive at the mountain town of Bac Ha to spend the night.

Day 4: Bac Ha – Hoang Su Phi/Ha Giang (B, L, D)

Drive to Ha Giang, the northernmost remote and mountainous province of Vietnam. Upon arrival, check in the Pan Hou Lodge, refresh at the lodge before enjoying lunch. In the afternoon, embark on a walk through the rice field terraces surrounding Pan Hou lodge.

Dinner and overnight at Pan Hou Lodge.

Day 5: Hoang Su Phi/Ha Giang (B, L, D)

Enjoy the tasty breakfast and get ready for the trek. Today, head towards Nam Hong ethnic village, the trek partially sneaks through forests, passes small waterfall, promising the breathtaking views of the rice terraces. Enjoy the opportunities interacting with Red Dzao, Tay, and Flower H’mong.

Arrive at the village of Man minority in Nam Hong village, here visit some local families to learn about the unique tradition of the region and its tea production before having simple lunch. In the afternoon, walk the rest of the trek through a bamboo forest to Giang Ha to visit another community of Tay, here experience their bamboo houses on stilts the most uniquely traditional way of housing from the Tay. Return to Pan Hou lodge and take the rest of the afternoon at leisure.

Dinner and overnight at Pan Hou Lodge.

Day 6: Hoang Su Phi – Hanoi (B, L)

Enjoy breakfast then transfer on road back to Hanoi. Arrive Hanoi in late afternoon.
