THROUGH THE FAMILY CYCLING THE MEKONG TOUR, YOU WILL DISCOVER

Day 1: Ho Chi Minh City – Cai Be – Vinh Long (L, D)

The cycling excursion leaves the bustling Ho Chi Minh City behind and heads towards the center of Mekong delta. At Cai Lay, the bikes will be ready and the tour sets out on the short ride to Cai Be town; cycle on back roads through country enjoying scenic views. After the ride through narrow alleys, crossing some small bridges, stop the ride and visit an ancient house set enclosed by a peaceful fruit orchard. Return to Cai Be to relax at the beautiful Mekong River resort.

This evening, take a great opportunity to learn how to cook traditional Vietnamese dishes and to hand pick fresh ingredients from the resort’s garden.

Day 2: Cai Be – Vinh Long – Can Tho (B, L)

After an early breakfast, setting out by boat to cross the Tien River. This morning’s bike ride will go around the island for slower pace of life. Pass by many cottage industries, cross over wooden bridges, and traverse large rivers via ferry to Vung Liem.

After lunch in a local restaurant, there will be a short transfer to discover the best cycling routes leading to Can Tho – our destination of the day. There is a change of scenery in the afternoon from the morning ride with endless verdant rice fields lined by coconut and palm trees. These quiet country roads pass through many peaceful villages offering another glimpse into the local life of the people in these regions; cycling through these regions is a fantastic way to discover and embrace the authenticity and slow pace of life in the Mekong delta.

Day 3: Can Tho – Ho Chi Minh City (B, L)

Start in the morning weaving through the bustling shop lanes of the morning market and cycling along the banks of the river front. Continue to a floating market of Phong Dien, take in the sights of endless Vietnamese family cottage industries, from rice husking to timber sawing, coconut shredders, and boat docks for rice barges. Have a local lunch at a local restaurant before returning to Can Tho; check out of the hotel and drive back to Ho Chi Minh city.
