Day 1: Ho Chi Minh City arrival

Welcome to Ho Chi Minh City, our guide and driver will be waiting and provide transport to the hotel for check in. After checking in, relax at the hotel or start exploring the city for the first impression.

Overnight in Ho Chi Minh City.

Day 2: Visit Ho Chi Minh City and Cu Chi tunnels (B, L)

Begin your Vietnam holiday with transfer to Cu Chi tunnels. There, watch a short documentary film about the area before exploration of its tunnels (alternative, an optional extra the return journey can be taken by speedboat downstream Saigon River). Cu Chi consists of an incredible underground network of three levels constructed by Vietnamese resistance Viet Cong fighters during both the Indochina and Vietnam wars. Visitors can crawl through the tunnels, learning about how the soldiers and their families lived during hardship wartime.

In the afternoon, return to Ho Chi Minh City, take a special tour visiting Cholon, the Chinatown district. Discover the temple styled markets and shops of the area, and also pay a visit to the Cantonese Thien Hau pagoda. Here children can light some coiled incense that can burn up to 10 days. Be sure to make a wish as you light the incense.

At the end of the day, watch a traditional music show in a private home then return to the hotel late this afternoon.

In the evening, for dinner, the whole family will join in preparing the food in a popular BBQ restaurant ‘grill your own meal’.

Overnight in Ho Chi Minh City.

Day 3: Ho Chi Minh City – Cai Be – Overnight cruise (B, L, D)

After the breakfast at the hotel, meet your guide, leave the busy city of Ho Chi Minh and driver for a 2,5 hour transfer to the Delta town of Cai Be, deep in the Mekong Delta. The vivid colours and bustling markets of the Mekong Delta will delight kids and parents.

Arrive in Cai Be at noon, meet the boat crews of Bassac. After welcome drink and a brief introduction to the ship. The boat motor towards Cho Lach on the Tien Giang river and lunch will be served on the upper deck. Visit a village on the banks of river to soak in the riverside lifestyle here in the Delta. Other than that, visit the orchards or rice fields.

Back on board the Bassac for refreshing drink; climb up the sundeck for the magnificent sunset overlooking the Mekong’s magical waterways.

Enjoy dinner on board Bassac while the boat cruises the Mang Thit river towards Tra On for the anchorage point for the night.

Overnight on board in Mekong Delta.

Day 4: Can Tho (B, L)

Enjoy a delicious breakfast onboard while the boat cruises towards Can Tho city. Upon arrival to Can Tho, take a small boat transfer to visit the Cai Rang floating market.

Glide leisurely through the floating market where wholesalers on large vessels downloading their produces of fruit and vegetables. Each boat advertising their goods for sale on long, upright poles at the ship’s bow. The waterway is jam-packed with boats loaded with mango, bananas, papaya, pineapple, and even floating pho and café parlours.

Return to Can Tho and have lunch on land.

This afternoon, venture more cycling around the quiet riverside lanes of Can Tho. It is an ideal way for family to discover the countryside from your bike as the roads are flat and the sites are just amazing: cottage industries, hidden temples in the orchards and lots of friendly locals to interact with along the way.

Overnight in Can Tho.

Day 5: Can Tho – Ho Chi Minh City (B, L)

After breakfast, return to Ho Chi Minh City on a 4-hour car transfer.

Upon reaching Ho Chi Minh City, the remainder of the day is free at leisure.

Day 6: Ho Chi Minh City – Dalat (B, L)

Depart for an early flight from Ho Chi Minh City to Dalat, a popular hill station retreat during French colonial times. Today this destination is well-known for both domestic and foreign tourists. Owing to its cool climate for rich variety of agricultural produce including coffee, vegetables and flowers,the surrounding region is lush with mountains, waterfalls and pine forests. Vietnamese give the city a charming nick name “City of Eternal Spring”. Upon arrival at Lien Khuong airport, meet your guide and driver for transfer to your hotel for check in.

Today start hiking along the scenic trail which ultimately leads to the stunning Tiger waterfall for some great shots. Next, walk to Phoenix waterfall dotted with colossal old trees.

Enjoy a family picnic lunch on the top of the hill with fantastic views of the beautiful valley and river flowing through. After lunch, journey on trails downhill and enjoy the adventurous feeling of crossing a suspension bridge.

Kindly note that the trekking route and distance may be adjusted depending on weather conditions as well as the age of the children and fitness levels.

Transfer to the hotel and the rest of the day is at leisure.

Overnight in Dalat.

Day 7: Dalat – Nha Trang (B, L)

This morning, embark on a cycling excursion to discover more scenic side of Dalat countryside. After breakfast, at around 9AM, depart on our private vehicle and transfer to the starting point. Start cycling for first 7km of fantastic views of Xuan Huong lake. Cycling through the hilly pine forest to the top of the mountain to enjoy the endless green forest in the valley of Love. Enjoy a picnic lunch with breads, local fresh fruits and vegetables grown in Dalat.

Kindly note that the cycling distance and route can be adjusted depending on weather conditions as well as the age of the children and levels of fitness.

After lunch and a bit relaxation, bike back to the starting point and be transferred by road to the coastal Nha Trang city, approximately 3 hours.

Overnight in Nha Trang.

Day 8: Nha Trang (B, L)

Spend the morning at leisure and in the late afternoon, embark on a “streets food tour” of Nha Trang via cyclo. As we explore by cyclo, different stops will be made to sample some of the renowned Nha Trang local street food and specialities, including “banh can” (a grilled round rice cake), “nem nuong” (Nha Trang fresh spring rolls), grilled sea shells, local BBQ eatery and much more. Wrap the evening by enjoying a cup coffee – Vietnamese style or local dessert sitting on the sidewalk with the friendly locals.

Return to the hotel for a good night sleep. Overnight in Nha Trang.

Day 9: Nha Trang –Fly to Ho Chi Minh City – Departure (B)

This morning, meet your guide and transfer to Nha Trang’s airport for the flight to Ho Chi Minh City’s airport. From here, catch the departing flight.
