THROUGH CAO BANG DISCOVERY TOUR, YOU WILL EXPLORE
Day 1: Hanoi – Thai Nguyen – Cao Bang (L, D)
From Hanoi, start the journey to the highland, drive through Thai Nguyen City to visit the Museum of Vietnam’s Ethnic Groups (closed every Mondays and from 11h30 to 13h30). Learn about interesting culture of the main hill tribes living in Vietnam. Enjoy a local lunch in a small restaurant.
Continue the journey to Cao Bang, the capital city of Cao Bang province where ethnic minority groups of the Tay, Dao, Nung and H’mong live in harmony.
Arrive in Cao Bang in late afternoon. Overnight in Cao Bang.
Day 2: Cao Bang – Ban Gioc Waterfall – Nguom Ngao cave – Cao Bang (B, L, D)
Early in the morning visit Cao Bang market for local tasty breakfast sampling some famous local dishes such as Banh Cuon and Bun Cha before driving towards Ban Gioc near the Chinese border.
Visit Nung ethnic group on the way, visit their craft workshops making incense sticks. Next, stop to visit a well known blacksmith village in Pac Rang to see how the best knifes are made by a Nung craftman.
On arrival, visit Ban Gioc waterfall, the biggest and most beautiful one in Vietnam. The river form the waterfall is also the natural border between Vietnam and China. After a tasty local lunch, transfer to Nguom Ngao cave, one of the most interesting and impressive limestone grottoes of the Northern provinces. Upon entering the grotto, walk for around 1 km to admire the spectacular natural formations.
In the late afternoon return to Cao Bang town.
Overnight in Cao Bang.
Note: Authorization and passport are required to visit Ban Gioc. Water level can be varied in the different seasons.
Day 3: Cao Bang – Pac Bo – Hanoi (B, L)
Early in the morning, drive towards Pac Bo destination, the hideout cave of president Ho Chi Minh during the Indochina War. Visit his living place and strategic work place for years managing the guerillas war before the 1954 victory from French colonialists. On the way back, stop at Cao Bang for lunch before continuing to Hanoi. There is an opportunity to visit Ba Be lakes and the National Park, please contact our travel consultant!
