THROUGH HOI AN COOKING CLASS WITH TRA QUE VISIT TOUR, YOU WILL DISCOVER
At 8 AM, travel by minivan to the organic vegetable village of Tra Que, stroll around through the gardens to notice that the local farmers here have been growing vegetables using hundred-year-old traditional methods and still no machinery used until today. Pick fresh spike thumb coriander, red shallots and some Vietnamese purple mints or basils for your upcoming cooking lesson. The tour includes visiting a farmer family and trying a special herbal drink that the host offers before taking the transfer back to the main market of Hoi An. With an ingredient list, come around, search and purchase star anise, rice paper, cardamom, banana blossom.
Rush to the Red Bridge Cooking School for the most exciting part of the tour. Here, together with the Red Bridge Chef, learn the traditional ways of preparing and cooking Vietnamese food of four main dishes. After enjoying the dishes prepared earlier with a local beer or two, take a recipe for home before embarking on a leisurely cruise along the Hoai River back to Hoi An heritage town.
